First time in Ras Al Khaimah
The one-screen answer to “why go, and where do I start?” — especially if you're coming up from Dubai.
RAK vs Dubai — what's different
Ras Al Khaimah is the UAE's nature emirate, about an hour north of Dubai. Where Dubai is skyline, malls and superlatives, RAK is mountains, sea, desert and heritage — quieter, more affordable, and built around the outdoors. Most first-timers come as a day trip or a two-to-four night escape from Dubai, and the two pair beautifully: the city for the buzz, RAK for the calm and the adventure.

Start with things to do, the beaches, and RAK's heritage.
How long to stay
A day trip is enough for one headline experience plus lunch — Jais and a late beach, or the fort and the old town. A weekend lets you pair mountains with a beach resort. Three to five days covers the full spread: adventure, beach, desert and heritage, at a relaxed pace. Our ready-made itineraries lay each one out hour by hour.
